Giacomo Leopardi on boredom

"Boredom is the desire for happiness left in its pure state."

And the man knew something about boredom—he seems to have lived most of his life in virtual isolation.

So… What are the implications of this observation for our beloved bloggers?

    Questions on Boredom

How often do you get bored?
What dose boredom feel like for you?
Would it give you comfort to know that at the time you are feeling bored there are countless others in Ireland and abroad feeling the way you do?
Do you project your boredom onto others, ie; do you feel that they too are bored?
If boredom were a place what would it look like?
If boredom were a manifestation of something or someone what would it/they look like?
Would you say your boredom is a chemical or psychological problem?
If your boredom is chemical would you research to find suitable medication to lift your spirits, makeing you more enthusiastic?
If boredom for you is psychological would you say it might be related to your personal opinions of reality?
Do you paint the world around you the colours of your feelings?
If yes is the answer to the above question could you paint an impressionistic image called boredom?
And again, if yes is the answer to the above question what would that painting consist of:
would it abstract or would it be more literal?
Do you believe in yourself to the extent that you can turn something negative like boredom into something beautiful?
If you were confined to a field of grass with nothing else but a book of poetry for fifty years would you make a little universe out of all the words and meanings in it?
What would that universe of yours look like?
