Those of you who don't have wikipedia set as your browser's homepage should check out today's featured article on Sealand.
At first I thought wikipedia was asking me to read about something along the lines of SeaWorld, but I was severely mistaken! Sealand is a fascinating (pseudo-)nation that consists of a sunken fortress with it's own constitution but negligible recognition from other countries.

Now, personally, if I was going to name myself queen of something I'd want it to be something a little more spectacular than the rusty towers pictured to the left, but these pictures of what lies below are pretty cool, as is the idea of running one's own offshore hosting company—too bad the company ended up sinking as well.
Update: Exactly five months and 27 days after being featured by wikipedia.org and teased by kenspeckle.net, Sealand caught fire, leading to suspicions of foul play and/or generator damage and a debate on the implications for Sealand's sovereignty on boing boing. Coincidence? I wonder…
